Germany fully supports the European commitment of Moldova. The ratification of the Association Agreement with the EU is the first stage, while its implementation by continuing the reformation agenda will be the second stage, Minister of State at the Federal Foreign Office of Germany Michael Roth said in a meeting with Prime Minister Iurie Leanca, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Government’s press service, the German official said Moldova can count on Germany’s assistance in accelerating reforms in the justice sector. “You are not alone. Moldova belongs to and is part of Europe,” said Michael Roth.
For his part, Iurie Leanca thanked the German minister for the visit paid to Moldova, saying it represents a sign of support for Moldova. He also referred to the situation in which the Moldovan farmers fund themselves following the bans imposed by Russia. “It’s important to find new export markets and increase the quality standards in agriculture,” stated the Premier.
In the end, the two officials discussed the situation in Ukraine and concluded that the dialogue is the only solution for resolving the crisis there, exclusively by peaceful ways.
