German entrepreneurs are interested in development of relations with Moldova

Representatives of 7 companies from the German state Rheinland-Palatinate met on Wednesday, October 11, 50 Moldovan businessmen as part of an economic forum, organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI). The chairman of CCI, Gheorghe Cucu, declared that the opportunity of the Moldovan-German forum is part of the visit to Chisinau of the speaker of German bundestag, Norbert Lammert. Cucu mentioned that the German interest for the R. of Moldova is caused by the new status offered by the EU neighborhood, a status Moldova will have at a time with the adherence of Romania and through the foreign trade facilities it will receive from the EU. Cucu expressed his hope that this forum will represent the first step in the process of development of economic relations with the German state, taking into consideration its striking economic potential, the foreign trade of the land reaching the estimation of circa EUR 50 bln. On the other hand, Rheinland-Palatinate established very good relations with Romania, and the German businessmen declared that they will also visit the R. of Moldova each time they will be headed to Romania. During the day, bilateral meetings will take place in which Moldovan businessmen will have the opportunity to establish direct collaboration relations with the German entrepreneurs. German companies are specialized in selling polystyrene and plastic manufacture machines; producing and selling farm equipment and machines for processing grapes.; producing and wholesaling of chemical substances; special transportation, including those of the chemical substances; producing of chemical substances for the treating of wood; industrial manufacture and constructions; import, selling vegetables, mushrooms, fruits, including citruses. In the January-August period of the current year, exports of the R. of Moldova to Germany are estimated at USD 28.4 mln, which represents an increase of 2.5%, and the imports – USD 6 mln, just 97.3% of the level of the same period in 2005.
