German cemetery opens in Chisinau

The bones of the German citizens buried on the territory of Moldova will be exhumed and buried in a cemetery opened in the Rascani district of the Capital, near another cemetery „St. Lazar” placed on Doina street. The cemetery was opened at the end of the last week in the presence of the mayor of village Gratieshti, Valentina Patrash, and the representatives of the German Embassy in Chisinau.
According to the mayor of Gratieshti, the German graveyard, placed on a surface of 3 hectares, was opened at the initiative and support of German authorities near the territory where the cemetery of Gratieshti will be situated.
Mrs. Patrash said that the German authorities have donated to the locality 14,000 euro for building the cemetery in Gratieshti, stretched out on a surface of 7 hectares.
About 100 German citizens were present at the opening.
