Representatives of the German Bundestag, alongside professors from universities in Berlin, announced the winners of the contest of parliamentary scholarships for 2013. Moldova is represented by 3 young women who will get to learn about the German parliamentary system and to gain practice experience in parliamentary activity, Info-Prim Neo reports. Head of the German Bundestag delegation, Bartholomäus Kalb, declared during a press conference in Chisinau that the scholarship winners will get a monthly allowance of €450. Accommodation is provided by the Berlin administration and the travel costs will be covered by the German authorities. During the stay in Berlin, the scholarship winners will work in the cabinet of a Bundestag member, where they will improve their knowledge about German democracy and government forms. They will also have the chance to enlist for a course at a university in Berlin. Deputy head of the German Embassy in Chisinau Carsten Wilms said that this year the contest had 9 applicants, all of which were well-prepared. The number of candidates varies year after year. Knowing the German language perfectly is the first condition for participation in the contest. Carsten Wilms added that all the former winners of scholarships offered by the German Bundestag managed to find very good jobs. The parliamentary scholarship program in Moldova was started in 2008.
