Over 500 people took part in the fourth Generosity Gala on December 1. The event started with a charity concert and continued with an auction of works of art. The proceeds from ticket sales, the donations and auction funds will go to prevent the separation of children from the family. The event is organized by CCF/HHC Moldova and Pro TV channel, IPN reports.

The concert was given by soprano Valentina Nafornita and tenor Mihai Dogotari. This also involved Alex Calancea Band and the National Youth Orchestra directed by Spanish conductor Jordi Navarro. The peak of the evening was the duo between Alex Calancea and Valentina Naforniat, who sang “Parla piu piano” and “Moon river”, combining different musical styles. Ticket prices varied from 800 to 2,600 lei.

Liliana Rotaru, president of the Association “Child, Community, Family Moldova”, said the raised funds will be used to further close residential institutions intended for children and to develop services designed to strengthen families in Moldova. “We consider the family is the ideal place for the harmonious growth and development of a child and no residential institution, no matter how modern and outfitted it is, can replace a mother’s arms,” stated Liliana Rotaru.

Soprano Valentina Nafornita said she supports programs to help families as this way she can contribute to the prosperity and future of the country. “I’m near CCF/HHC Moldova by what I can do best. I hope my voice will assist this nice cause now and in the future. I’m thinking tenderly about the children in Moldova who cannot enjoy a home and a family,” she stated.

A sum of €30,000 was collected in the fourth Generosity Gala. The proceeds of the previous Generosity Galas were used to purchase systems that enabled to successfully integrate 14 deaf children into community schools, near the family. There was opened the community house “Viitorul”, for 12 children with severe disabilities from Chisinau.
