The General Prosecutor's Office and the Central Election Commission were notified by three members of the Chisinau constituency electoral council of a possible attempt to rig or discredit the local elections on October 20. At a press conference held at IPN, Igor Chiriac, member of CECE Chisinau, has said that on the list of members of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations in the Buiucani sector, published on CEC website, have appeared other names than those voted and approved by CECE Chisinau, IPN reports.

Igor Chiriac has mentioned that the members of the electoral bureaus are proposed by the local public authorities, three for each bureau, and by the parties and organizations represented in the Parliament.

“The persons proposed by Chisinau Municipal Council were changed. In such a situation, there is a risk that the minutes on the voting results to be drafted on October 20, 2019 will be signed by persons other than those made public on the CEC page. For this reason, the risk of cancelling the results of the local elections of October 2019 persists," stressed the CECE Chisinau member.

Igor Chiriac said that a complaint was filed with the CEC and the General Prosecutor's Office to verify whether there was an attempt to invalidate or falsify the results of local elections in the capital.

Victoria Spînu, a member of CECE Chisinau, read out the notification. It says that the list of persons who are part of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations in the Buiucani sector was sent to Constantin Sturza, person in charge of elections within Buiucani Praetor Office. "Subsequently, I noticed that in my computer, from the work desk at the CECE Chisinau headquarters, changes have been made in the electronic document that included the nominal composition of the electoral bureaus of the polling stations, the composition being brought in line with the list published on cec.md web page”, said Victoria Spînu.

The notification sent to the General Prosecutor's Office and the Central Election Commission was signed by all three members of the CECE Chisinau: Igor Chiriac, Victoria Spînu and Valentina Urechean.
