The General Police Inspectorate by noon recorded 57 violations of the electoral legislation. In a press briefing, deputy head of the General Police Inspectorate Marin Maxian said the police are examining four cases of alleged electoral bribery, six cases of photographing of ballots and three cases of hampering of the right to vote. Among other analyzed violations are the placing of campaign posters within 100 meters from the polling station, campaigning and organized transportation of voters, IPN reports.
“In Ştefan Vodă, an older person wasn’t put on the list for voting with the mobile ballot box. In another case, a person went to the polling station without a mask and he informed the police that he was not allowed to go in. He was offered a mask, but he refused to take it. In Făleşti, a suspended functionary placed impediments to groups of persons who were heading for the polling station. All these cases are being examined,” stated Marin Maxian.
The police are also probing 21 violations committed near polling stations, such as hooliganism, conflicts or inebriation. Measures are being taken to discourage illegal behaviors and intentions to destabilize the situation. Anyone with any information about electoral violations is asked to call the police.
