The Gross Domestic Product in the first quarter of this year rose by 3.7% compared with the corresponding period last year, to 37.6 billion lei, IPN reports, with reference to the National Bureau of Statistics.
Positive contributions to the GDP were made by the retail and wholesale trade, accommodation and public eating places, extractive industry, processing industry and information and communication technology.
Negative contributions were made by the public administration and defense, mandatory social insurance, education, health and social assistance.
The GDP growth was mainly due to the final consumption of the population, which contributed 90.9% to the formation of the GDP.
The information does not cover the left side of the Nistru and Bender municipality.
Tiraspol announced a local GDP of 2.195 billion Transnistrian rubles for the first quarter. In real terms, (GDP in comparable terms), the economy grew by 15.1%.
The GDP is defined as the final result of the production activity of the resident producing units in a particular period.
