The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Moldova over January-June this year rose by 5.4% in real terms compared with the corresponding period last year, to 28.778 billion lei, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the National Bureau of Statistics. According to the Bureau, the increase stemmed from the rise in the gross value added in the manufacturing and service sectors (by 2.9% and 6.7%) and in the net taxes on product and import (by 7.4%). In the second quarter of 2008 (January-March), the GDP was 16.085 billion lei in current prices, an increase of 6.2% year on year.
