Representatives of sexual minorities say they will sue the police for not having insured the safety of the participants in the march they organized on May 11, and the City Hall – for not having programmed the public manifestation, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The president of the info center “GenderDoc-M, Alexei Marcicov, told a news conference on Monday, May 12, the police was guilty of the violent actions of “some aggressive groupings” on the march of sexual minorities.
The police did nothing to create the participants in the pride a possibility to get off the bus. Moreover, the police's passive attitude encouraged “the aggressive groupings”, creating an atmosphere of total permissiveness, the GenderDoc-M president has said.
Alexei Marcicov believes the whole action was planned in advance and guided by the representatives of the security services of the Republic of Moldova.
According to the gays' representatives, the people having forced the door of the bus, asking to give them the flags, posters and other materials of the marchers, wore uniforms with military signs, with black masks on their faces.
GenderDoc-M accuses the Chisinau City Hall oh having discriminated the sexual minorities by banning the manifestation right before its beginning. Only the court has the right to cancel a public action, says the president of the association “Accept”, Florin Bucuceanu. According to him, the gays went to the Great National Assembly Square only to remind the Moldovan society it is necessary to protect the human rights in this country, which should applied concerning all the Moldovan citizens, regardless of their sexual orientation.
GenderDoc-M asks human rights organizations to take their stances as to this case. Also, the Moldovan sexual minorities ask the EU representatives to exert certain pressure upon the Moldovan authorities to observe the legal provisions and the commitments before the international forums.
