Gasoline prices modified seven times in nine months

The retail sales of diesel fuel and liquefied petroleum gas during the first nine months of this year rose by 13% compared with the corresponding period last year to 153,900 tonnes. The sales of gasoline fell by over 8% to 136,300 tonnes, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the National Agency for Energy Regulation.
The Agency says the sales of gasoline decreases following the rise in the selling and import prices of this type of fuel. The average import price of gasoline increased by 27.5%, of diesel fuel - by 29.9%, while of liquefied petroleum gas – by 44.6%.
The selling prices of the oil products were also affected by the depreciation by 13.2% of the national currency against the dollar and the 50% increase in the excise duties on gasoline and diesel fuel.
The retail prices of gasoline in the period have been adjusted seven times, of diesel fuel five times, while of liquefied petroleum gas two times. The highest price of gasoline was recorded in April – 14.4 lei a liter, while of diesel fuel in June – 12.60 lei a liter. The price of liquefied petroleum gas in February rose from 6.45 to 6.9 lei a liter, while in September – from 6.9 to 7.4 lei a liter.
As many as 111 companies holding 161 licenses for kind of activity worked on the oil products market in the first nine months of the year. 23 license holders imported and sold gasoline and diesel fuel wholesale, while nine license holders - liquefied petroleum gas.
