The increase in the selling prices of gasoline and diesel fuel stemmed from the higher import prices of these products following the significant rise in oil prices on the international stock exchanges and in the Platt`s prices on the regional markets, the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) has said, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
According to the Agency, since June 15 when the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel were adjusted the last time until November 30, the Platt`s prices of gasoline have increased by 10.7% to 775 USD/tonne, while of diesel fuel – by 10.6% to 741 USD/tonne.
As a result, the average import prices of gasoline and diesel fuel grew by 77 USD/tonne (10.6%) and, respectively, 89.5 USD/tonne (12.8%) to 802 and 786.5 USD/tonne. The official exchange rate of the national currency against the US dollar in the period rose by 4.8%, from 12.8 lei/USD to 12.18 lei/USD.
The prices of the oil products sold on the home market are not regulated by the state. They are set by license holders on the basis of the methodology approved by the ANRE, which limits the profitability rate to 10% of consumption and costs.
