Moldova's First Deputy Premier Igor Dodon, who is concurrently Minister of Economy and Trade, discussed the price of the Russian gas and terms of electrical power supply during his visit to Moscow on July 2 and 3, Info-Prim Neo reports, citing a press release from the Ministry.
During the meeting with the vice president of the gas giant Gazprom, Valery Golubev, Igor Dodon talked terms of gas deliveries to Moldova in the course of 2009, with an emphasis on the future price.
Another issue broached was the rescheduling of debt for gas to Gazprom.
The parties agreed to continue the talks and scheduled the next meeting for the second half of this July.
At the meeting with the leadership of the Russian enterprise “INTER RAO EES” the interlocutors examined the possibility of delivering electricity from the Cuchurgan power plant to Moldova.
Igor Dodon has noted that today the most convenient prices of electricity for Moldova are offered by Ukraine. While Ukraine sells electricity for 6.2¢/kWh on average, and the price for Hungary, Slovakia and Romania exceed 7¢/kWh, Moldova buys electricity for 4.4¢/kWh.
