Gas Natural Fenosa is content with the work of its branch in Moldova, stated Antoni Peris, the freshly-appointed Regulated Business Managing Director, at a meeting with Prime Minister Vlad Filat. The director expressed his confidence about the fact that the enterprise can offer more services, and ordered the elaboration of an analysis of the region's potential, including in the field of efficient electric energy consumption, RED Union Fenosa said in a press release.
“We feel comfortable here. We managed to re-establish the infrastructure in the field, due to the Government's trust in our company, and due to the support we got. We are interested to further develop collaboration in the energy field. In Spain, our company obtained a contract to improve electric energy consumption efficiency for the Ministry of Economy. As a result, the Ministry's bills decreased by 40%”, said Antoni Peris.
Prime Minister Vlad Filat stated that the Government's priority is to diversify energy sources, but also to improve consumption efficiency. The Premier welcomed Gas Natural Fenosa's initiative to implement projects in this field.
The discussion with Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, during the same meeting, concerned existent opportunities in the energy sector, and the possibility for companies that are interested to put them to use. This particularly refers to traditional energy, as well as renewable energy, which gains more and more importance and prospects. The Minister assured that the direction towards integration into the pan-European energy market is irreversible.
“Red Union Fenosa” FIVCE is the largest distributor of electricity in Moldova, operating on the local market since 2000. The company is a member of the Spanish Gas Natural Fenosa group, which services over 20 million clients in 25 countries.
