Gas consumption drops

In the first half of the year the shipments of natural gas to Moldova, excluding the Transnistrian region, have fallen by 5.1% compared to the same period last year, and totaled at 576.8 million cubic meters, according to a monitoring report from the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) on this segment of the market, reports Info-Prim Neo.
Businesses were the ones with the largest decreases in consumption, at 17.2%, down to 102.2 cubic meters. The population has consumed 182.3 million cubic meters, by about 6.1% less, and state-financed institutions by 4.5% less.
Increases in consumption were reported only by enterprises from the energy sector, which consumed 45% of the total. Individual consumption was 32%, businesses consumed 18%, and state-financed institution 5.6%.
Value wise, the natural gas shipments sum at 3.5 billion lei, or 20.9% more than the same period last year, as a result of increases in the natural gas prices.
