Household consumers and some of the non-household consumers connected to low-pressure gas networks will pay for gas a charge of 12,154 lei per thousand cubic meters (12.1 lei/m3) or by 1,244 lei for one thousand cubic meters less than now. The charge was approved on Thursday by the Administration Board of the National Agency for Energy Regulation and is slightly lower than the charge of 12,200 lei per thousand cubic meters proposed by Moldovagaz, IPN reports.

The Board analyzed the supporting documents submitted by Moldovagaz and ascertained the existence of objective factors for the revision of the regulated prices of natural gas supplied for 2024, namely to reduce the forecast average annual price for purchasing natural gas from $518/1,000 m3 to $482.5/1,000 m3.

The Agency approved the following regulated prices (excluding VAT) for natural gas supplied to particular categories of end users:
- points of entry into natural gas transmission networks – 7,670 lei/1,000 m3, by 1,260 lei/1,000m3 less than the current price;
-
points of exit from natural gas transmission networks – 7,755 lei/1,000 m3, by 1,264 lei/1,000m3 less than the current price;
-
points of exit from high-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 7,869 lei/1,000 m3, by 1,260 lei/1,000m3 less than the current price;
-
points of exit from medium-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 8,871 lei/1,000 m3, by 1,205 lei/1,000m3 less than the current price;
- points of exit from low-pressure natural gas distribution networks – 12,154 lei/1,000 m3, by 1,244 lei/1,000m3 less than the current price.

The average gas supply price calculated by
the Agency is by 9.8% lower compared to the average price in force. Household consumers will pay for one cubic meter of natural gas by 1.24 lei (without VAT) less than the current charge.

The new prices will enter into force on May 3, the date of publication in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Moldova.
