Moldovan young people studying abroad can apply for the second contest Gala of Students Native of Moldova starting with October 1. The contest awards the young people with the best academic standing abroad, IPN reports.
The award ceremony will most probably take place on December 27, under the auspices of the Prime Minister of Moldova.
The contest is open to Moldovan students studying at universities abroad for a bachelor’s, master’s or a doctor’s degree in the 2014/2015 academic year, including those who graduated from such an institution in 2014. Applications can be submitted online on www.galastudentilor.md between October 1 and December 1, 2014, in the Contest section.
There will be presented the following awards: “Student of the Year in the United States and Canada”, “Student of the Year in Western Europe”, “Student of the Year in Central and Eastern Europa”, “Student of the Year in the Rest of the World,” and “Student of the Year Studying Abroad”. The participants will be selected by a jury consisting of personalities from the academic, institutional and business circles of Moldova.
The Gala of Students Native of Moldova “Academic Excellence for Moldova” was launched in 2013 by the Association of Moldovan Students from France “Jeunes Moldaves”, in partnership with the Bureau for Diaspora Relations. As many as 205 students and graduates from 21 countries took part in the contest in 2013. There were awarded 33 young people.
