The six Gagauz companies authorized to export wine to Russia reduced exports to this country by 60% following the depreciation of the Russian ruble, IPN reports, quoting the information portal Gagauzinfo.
Vitalie Kiurkchiu, who heads the Economic Development, Trade and Services Division of Gagauzia, said the quantities of wine supplied to Russia started to be decreased last autumn. Now many wine producers decided not to export wine in large amounts to this country.
Vitalie Kiurkchiu also said that exports to Ukraine fell by over 60% on 2013. But, owing to the diversification of the export markets for the Moldovan wine, the total wine exports of Gagauzia declined by only 20%.
