The Bashkan (Governor) of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal said the local Central Election Commission for the legislative elections was created with irregularities. “Not all the members of the CEC were selected and I consider that the Commission was constituted with violations of the legislation. We will receive all the documents. Our jurists will examine them and we will decide what steps to take,” the Bashkan stated for Info-Prim Neo. Commenting on the statements made by the head of the People’s Assembly Ana Harlamenko, who said that most of the deputies who support the Governor tried to interrupt the meeting so that the Commission could not be set up, Mihail Formuzal said three are no deputies of the Bashkan or deputies who support the Bashkan, but there are deputies who obey the law. The elections for the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia will take place on July 29. On May 24, there were chosen six of nine members of the local Central Election Commission. Three of them represent the People’s Assembly, two the courts or law, while one the local Executive Committee.
