The executive committee of Gagauzia intends to improve the cooperation relations with five Romanian counties, the autonomous region’s Governor Mihail Formuzal told IPN’s correspondent on August 8.
According to the leader of Gagauzia, the potential cooperation partners are the Romanian counties of Constanta, Galati, Alba, Harghita and Covasna. Cooperation agreements will be signed with each of them and the necessary preparations already started.
“The cooperation areas will be the traditional ones for the interregional ties that Gagauzia establishes with its foreign partners, including economy, society, and the humanitarian-cultural sphere,” stated Mihail Formuzal.
Currently, Gagauzia is implementing a number of projects with Romania. Last year, several dozen teachers of Romanian from the autonomous region attended linguistic courses at the Lower Danube University in Galati.
