Gabriel Stati spent almost 2m lei on campaign

Businessman Gabriel Stati has spent nearly 2 million lei on the election campaign. One week before the November 28 elections, the independent candidate submitted a financial report to the Central Election Commission, indicating he spent 1 988 091 lei, Info-Prim Neo reports. In its November 19 meeting, the Central Election Commission approved the financial reports of the election contenders registered on October 22 and November 2. By November 16, they spent together 2 006 847 lei. The last independent candidate on the ballot Sergiu Banari declared an expenditure of 13 756 lei, while Afanasie Barladeanu – of only 5 000 lei. Independent candidate Maia Laguta was warned for not presenting the financial report. In the current election campaign, the parties are allowed to spend up to 21 644 445 lei, while the independents – up to 2 166 444 lei.
