Gabi Balint is no more the manager of Moldova’s national football team. The contract between the Football Federation and the Romanian coach has expired, it is said in a communiqué published on the Federation’s website on December 19, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The sides tried to negotiate a new contract, but did not reach a consensus for a number of reasons. The Moldovan Football Federation thanks Gabi Balint for the work done as manager of the national squad in 2010-2011 and wishes him success in his career as a coach,” says the communiqué. Gabi Balint took over the national team last winter. Under his guidance, the team played 18 matches, scoring five victories and two draws and suffering 11 defeats. In the EURO 2012 qualifying campaign, Moldova ranked fifth in the preliminary group. The new manager will be announced by the Executive Committee of the Moldovan Football Federation. There are also foreign coaches among the candidates for this post.
