Last week, the main European currencies corrected, after they had previously grown. The US dollar was up against European currencies, after falling earlier last week. On Tuesday, the US dollar hit a record low against the euro this year: 1.4330. The drop was influenced by the summit of the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries, which is to be held this month, at which Russia is expected to set up for discussion a possible switch to a new reserve currency.
On Friday, euro dropped reaching 1.3930, as there is also the possibility for a even deeper correction, but the key support level is 1.3740. If this level is past beyond, the way will open for quotations of 1.33-1.34.
Today the euro will be sold by exchange offices at 15.43-15.48 lei to buy, and at 15.68-15.73 lei to sell.
The currency exchange offices will buy the US dollar at 11.09-11.12 lei and will sell it at 11.19-11.23 lei.
