The future mayor of Chisinau should come with a very good team so as to cope with all the problems faced by the capital city. The future mayor will not cope alone, representatives of the Party of Socialists and the Liberal Democratic Party stated in the program “In Depth” on ProTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
Socialist MP Vlad Batrancea said none of the future mayor generals will solve by himself the problems of Chisinau. “A mayor general should come with a powerful team of jurists who could represent the City Hall in the relations with business entities, in court. This must come with a team that knows what road building, public transport and the social sphere mean,” stated the MP.
The Liberal-Democratic MP Vadim Pistrinciuc noted that the City Hall must not necessarily be headed by a person with particular leverage or ties with the central administration for the illegalities in the local administration to be dealt with. “A good mayor who has a very clear agenda aimed at terminating the connections between City Hall functionaries and the noxious business community can bring about the expected change,” he said. According to him, the problematic cases featuring dishonest functionaries should be made public so that the judges have no other way out and examine them.
The new local mayoral elections in Chisinau municipality will take place on May 20, 2018.
