Future interior designers who study at the Center of Excellence in Building displayed their works at an exhibition and sale entitled “World we want to build”, which was staged with the support of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) in Moldova, IPN reports.

The Center’s director Valeriu Pelivan said the young people want to live in a better world, without poverty and abuse. “Our students endeavored to show this in their works. It is a better life and a society in which we all want to live. It is very important that we have an international organization in the Republic of Moldova that wants the same, which is the UNFPA,” he stated.

Valeriu Pelivan called on the public to buy the exhibited works. The proceeds will go to purchase a new potter’s wheel for teaching pottery as no specialists in the field are now trained in Moldova.

UNFPA Representative in Moldova Rita Columbia said the exhibition was possible owing to the energy of young people. “I always believed that the young people are a driving force of creativity, innovations. That’s why when we want to change something, we should address the young people. The UNFPA makes the voices of the young people heard at all the levels. What we make effort to do in Moldova is to make sure that the young people can exercise their rights and their view is taken into account at the highest political level,” stated the official.

Rita Columbia assured that the UNFPA in Moldova will help the young people to build a world free from violence, where they can realize their potential and where their rights are respected and they can really be happy.
