Furniture donation for Moldova’s only penitentiary for women

The women’s penitentiary No. 7 in Rusca received a donation of furniture for the medical center and the section for convict mothers with children. The donation worth 23,456 US dollars was made by the United Nations Population Fund (UNPFA), Info-Prim Neo reports. The prison’s medical center includes a section for convict mothers with children younger than three and a medical section. Medical offices and a clinical laboratory will be set up in the center in the near future. Next year, UNFPA will outfit these offices with examination and diagnostic equipment, the Fund says in a communiqué. The medical center will provide treatment conditions and medical services for prisoners of a higher quality, the communiqué says.
