The sports hall of the Special Police Brigade “Fulger” of the Ministry of the Interior was repaired and outfitted with support from the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency TIKA. The works lasted for half a year and the investments amounted to 777,000 lei, IPN reports.
The ceremony to inaugurate the renovated hall involved Minister of the Inferior Alexandru Jzdan, Turkey’s Ambassador in Chisinau Hulusi Kılıç, TIKA programs coordinator in Moldova Canan Alpaslan, “Fulger” commanded Vasile Ivas, veterans and representatives of the Ministry of the Interior.
In the ceremony, Ambassador Hulusi Kiliç spoke about the relations between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Moldova during the 25 years of cooperation. “I appreciate a lot the activity of the police officers and I’m glad to see a good result of our cooperation – this project to modernize the sports hall of the Brigade “Fulger”. We will continue to offer assistance to the Republic of Moldova in all the areas,” said Hulusi Kiliç.
Minister Alexandru Jizdan thanked the Turkish people and TIKA for the provided support. “Everything that we do now is designed to bring benefits to the people in our country. The better is the training of our employees, the bigger will be the confidence we will enjoy in society. I’m convinced that all the initiated joint projects will produce results,” stated the minister.
In the event, there were awarded the best employees of the Brigade “Fulger”. Later, all those invited to the event visited the renovated gym where police officers tested the new sports equipment.
