Fuel prices rising

Fuel prices may rise. The largest companies of this branch have notified the National Energy Regulation Agency (ANRE) about price increases. ANRE general director Victor Parlicov told Info-Prim Neo that the notifications have been submitted a week ago. “The already have the formal possibility to increase the prices, since the notifications are not permission requests, merely informative notes”, said Victor Parlicov. According to the ANRE director, the fuel seller can modify the prices three days after submitting the notifications. The fact that they haven’t already increased the prices alludes towards other factors, such as competition, for example. Importers say they want to increase the prices due to price increases on the international oil markets, as well as due to the depreciation of the Moldovan currency relative to the US dollar.
