Since the beginning of this year, fuel prices have witnessed an increase of 3-4%, which the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) considers moderate. On Wednesday, the price of gasoline COR 95 will grow by a further 0.11 lei/liter, while the price of diesel fuel by 0.12 lei/liter, IPN reports.
According to ANRE, the level of retail prices of the main petroleum products of standard type was influenced by the increase of Platts quotations on international stock exchanges by about US$60 per tonne. Among the factors are also the application from January 1, 2024 of new excise duties on fuels, adjustment of the specific profit margin in the size of the contribution for energy efficiency, and depreciation of the national currency against the US dollar.
“In the immediate period, the Agency does not identify new factors that could put additional pressure on the level of fuel prices, which will fluctuate only in accordance with the level of quotations on stock exchanges,” reads a press release of the institution.
For Wednesday, the Agency set the following retail price ceilings for the main petroleum products of standard time - 23.56 lei per liter of gasoline COR 95 and 21.46 lei per liter of standard diesel fuel at the pump.
