Once the students from all over the country enter the Easter vacation on May 4, the parents will need to show extreme caution and talk to them about how to behave at home and in public spaces so as to be safe. More information activities are staged in educational institutions, said the deputy head of the Chisinau General Education, Youth and Sports Division Andrei Pavaloi, IPN reports.

“We issued an order by which the leaders of educational institutions, together with class masters, are to organize and organized during the previous week a number of activities to empower students and, in particular, with regard to the importance of respecting road traffic rules during the vacation, safety rules when walking near rivers and lakes. Also, training on electrical safety, meetings and discussions with local specialists of power grids were conducted. We discussed with students the responsibility regarding the safety of life and health in possible risk situations,” said Andrei Pavaloi.

The children will always be encouraged when they leave home to communicate where and with whom they are going, and in risk situations to call the 112 Emergency Service. The parents are urged to inform their children about traffic rules. When riding scooters, rollerblades or bicycles, wear protective equipment. “We want the children to be safe during this period and we should all enjoy this beautiful holiday,” said the Division’s deputy head.

The deputy head of the General Medical and Social Assistance Division Vladimir Bolocan said that, although in the near future the tensions related to the spread of measles could decrease, caution is still needed as the students’ holiday is approaching and communication between different groups is closer during this period, including between vaccinated and unvaccinated people. “At the first signs of illness, consult a doctor and do not resort to self-medication in any form,” he urged.

This year, the Easter vacation will last until May 13 inclusive.
