A student was caught red-handed while attempting to sell about one kilogram of drugs. The police seized him at the Northern Bus Station located on Calea Basarabiei, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the General Police Office (GPO), the young man, 21, attends the Law Faculty of “Prometeu” College in Soroca town. He is the resident of Criscauti village, Donduseni raion. He came to Chisinau to sell 900 grams of marijuana, without knowing that he is shadowed by the officers of the GPO and the Ciocana District Police Office. He was arrested during the “transaction”. During the hearings, the future lawyer said he bought the drugs at the price of MDL 150 a cupful.
The police have undertaken a series of actions related to this case, as a result of which the main supplier aged 33, resident of Horodiste village, Donduseni raion, was arrested. As a result of the searches performed at his home, a quantity of 20 cupfuls, prepared for trade were found. The man was planting and selling marijuana for a period of 2 years, being at the same time a drug consumer, and his customers were young persons aged 20-25.
Penal proceedings for illegal drug trade were initiated on this case. The student might be imprisoned for 8 years.
Starting 2007, the police bodies registered 787 offences related to the consumption, plantation and sale of narcotic drugs.
