A woman from Chisinau was rushed to the hospital with her leg fractured after she was involved in a road accident near the central gate of Saint Lazarus Cemetery on Monday of the Dead. Maria Shamatailo, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that the 52-year-old woman was trampled by a taxi of the 1447 service. The ambulances that were on duty near Saint Lazarus Cemetery on April 12 provided assistance to another 22 people, dealing with one case of appendicitis, one case of radiculitis, several cases of alcohol intoxication and hypertension and even two cases of toothache. Six of those who needed medical care were taken to the hospital. On Sunday, April 11, 21 persons sought help from the ambulance teams working at the same cemetery. A man fell into a freshly dug hole and received a cranial-cerebral trauma and suffered a convulsive syndrome. Seven persons were hospitalized. No person needed medical assistance at the Central Cemetery located on Armeneasca St. As a result of a family quarrel, the wife stabbed her husband with a knife in the epigastric region. The man was admitted to the hospital, but he soon ran away. An inebriated 40-year-old woman tried to kill herself by taking pills. She was taken to Saint Trinity Hospital for detox. Yesterday and last night, the Chisinau Ambulance Service dealt with 799 calls, including 76 cases of acute viral infection, 11 cases of pneumonia, 54 cases of trauma, six strokes and 12 deliveries.
