All the young people who graduated from national and foreign teacher training education institutions during the first years of teaching work will benefit from allowances. The Parliament’s commission on culture, education, research, youth, sport and the media will propose a bill to amend the Education Code to Parliament for consideration in the first reading at the next sitting, IPN reports.

Under the bill, the fresh teachers of national and foreign higher and vocational education institutions during the first three years of teaching activity will get allowances regardless of the form of education. The measure covers yet only the teachers who will be assigned by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.

“These amendments are aimed at motivating and supporting young specialists in their teaching activity and at solving the problem of shortage of teaching staff in the education system,” said PAS MP Vladimir Bolea.

Since 2019, based on a Government decision, during the first three years of work allowances in the amount of 40,000 lei a year are paid to young specialists of universities and of 32,000 lei a year to young specialists of post-secondary vocational institutions.

The bill is to be debated by Parliament.
