The family of Jean-Marc and Iulia Bequet-Panus from Nantes (west of France) covered about 4 thousand km throughout Europe, from Nantes to Chisinau, so that the grandfather from Moldova could see his nephews – 4 years old Julien and 2 years old Benjamin. Bequet-Panus family started its trip in Nantes on May 1 and arrived in Sculeni village, Moldova on August 7, and afterwards they traveled 3 days more to reach Chisinau, also by bicycles. On Wednesday, August 16, the entire family was invited to the general interim Mayor of Chisinau. Bequet-Panus family says that all the preparations for the trip started 3 years ago. However, the journey was difficult. They said that in Europe there are special tracks for bicycles on the roadways, but after Budapest they disappear, and the roads are very bad. The prip’s cost amounted to EUR 5 thousand, without equipment, only for accommodation and food. Bequet-Panus family has a web page which displays photos and events linked to this trip– http://www.papy-habite-en-moldavie.com/, in translation: grandfather lives in Moldova.
