A group of French specialists in public services came to Moldova to take part in a seminar that will take place in Cazangic village of Leova district on March 8 and 9. The event is held within a project that was won by the local authorities of Cazangic and that is financed by the Embassy of France in Moldova, to the value of almost€ 2,000.

In a news conference at IPN, mayor of Cazangic Ion Gutu said the seminar will involve 25 persons from the commune, including representatives of the local administration, entrepreneurs, inhabitants and teachers. The event will center on important themes for the commune. In this regard, the specialists from France will speak about the best relevant practices existing at international level.

According to the mayor, there was compiled a list of the key three problems of the community, which will be discussed in the seminar in order to find viable solutions to them and financing for implementing these. These refer to the supply of drinking water and building of a waste management system, environmental protection, etc. An essay contest on environmental protection intended for secondary school students will be held within the project.

Attaché of the Embassy of France in Moldova Martine Zejgman said the project will include a visit to France by representatives of Cazangic in May - June. These will establish cooperation relations with representatives of the local public authorities of France. Within the visit, there will be promoted a decentralized cooperation model between the sides.

In the same news conference, executive director of the Congress of Local Authorities Viorel Furdui said the given project, even if it has a low value, is a necessity for the local authorities. If there are more projects of the kind, these will be of great aid to the local authorities in solving the problems existing in the communities.

The project is to be completed in August 2018.
