The French company Edenred is ready from technical, operational and commercial viewpoints to issue meal vouchers in Moldova and is expected to launch the process this month, when it receives an authorization from the Public Services Agency. For the purpose, Edenred installed the necessary production equipment at the head office in Chisinau and hired personnel, IPN reports.

The French company is the only one on the local market that will issue meal vouchers on paper and later in the form of cards. These will be made in Chisinau, not abroad so that the partnership relations between Edenred and local companies develop rapidly and flexibly.

The meal vouchers will be produced by implementing modern technology in accordance with the legislation and will have a high protection level.

Over 50% of the Moldovan companies contacted by Edenred through a study carried out recently expressed their readiness to provide the benefits stipulated by the Law on Meal Vouchers that took effect last October to their employees. A part of these companies already signed contracts with Edenred and the last technical details are to be agreed.

“The meal voucher issuing center in Chisinau will ensure the swift meeting of meal voucher orders and the speedy delivery of vouchers to the head offices of clients all over the country. The team of Edenred Moldova consists of professionals who have over 14 years’ experience in the field and of specialists who are ready to provide the best services to companies and our partners. Edenred develops modern solutions for companies, especially as regards non-wage compensation, and we are glad that we will soon be able to support the companies, employees and traders in the Republic of Moldova,” said Dana Sintejudean, CEO Edenred Romania & Moldova.

The network of partners of Edenred is being developed. Over 600 grocery stores, supermarkets and restaurants expressed their interest in joining the network of partners of Edenred.

“Linella” is one of the largest national chains of grocery stores and this distinguished itself in time by the traditional, Moldovan concept and by the warm and welcoming interior of the shops. The rapprochement with and attention to the needs of our clients helped us to grow. Given our wish to offer them a complete range of payment possibilities, we are glad to launch the partnership with Edenred by which our clients will be able to pay for food purchases using meal vouchers,” said Valentin Scurtu, director general of Moldretail Group.

The companies and public institutions in Moldova will be able to provide their employees with meal vouchers worth up to 45 lei for each of the days worked the previous month. The monthly value of the meal vouchers will be thus about €44, which is a significant supplement to the purchasing power of salary earners. The expenses for meal vouchers are tax-deductible for employers and represent a non-taxable income for salary earners and no mandatory social insurance and health insurance contributions are paid on them.
