French citizen suspected of involvement in illegal migration

A citizen of France is suspected of organizing illegal migration. The 48-year-old man of Turkish origin was arrested by officers of the Interior Ministry’s Bureau for Migration and Asylum. During investigations, it was established that the man forged two Belgian identity cards for two citizens of Turkey in complicity with several other persons, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry. Later, the police arrested another two men aged 22 and, respectively, 25. They were caught at the Ungheni customs, when they attempted to leave Moldova with forged identification papers. Interrogated by the police, the two confessed that they wanted to go to Romania, where they were to meet the first suspect and leave for Belgium with the car through Hungary, Austria and Germany. The two men paid by 1,700 euros each for the services provided and were to pay the rest of 1,300 euros at the place of destination, the Interior Ministry says in a communiqué. The police are investigating the case to establish all the circumstances and identify all the persons involved in the organization of illegal migration. If found guilty, the persons involved would pay a fine of 6,000 to 10,000 lei or would serve one to three years in jail.
