French Alliance gathered 20 poets of the country in a poem recital

In the headquarters of the Writers’ Union of Moldova 20 poets of the country met on Monday, 6 March, in a poem recital ”Cities’ song”, held with the French poem festival ”Poets’ spring”. The event was organised by the organisation of Francophone Countries, supported by French alliance in Moldova. The members of the Administrative Council of the Writers’ Union, the poet, Nicolae Popa, said that this festival is at the level of a world one, as it started 8 years ago in France, and this year the recital of poem took place in 61 countries, including Moldova, which participated for the first time. In the same time, due to French alliance, this recital is the first organised in last 10 in the headquarters of the Writers’ Union. During the recital well known poets of the country participated at the event, such as Leo Botnaru, Arcadie Suceveanu, Ion Hadarca, Pavel Paduraru, Dumitru Crudu, Irina Nechit, Calina Trifan, Angela Armasu, Alexandru Cozmescu, but also young poets, beginners. Those 20 participants, who recited poems, will be included in the general list of poets of those 61 countries participant this year at the festival. Last year, within the festival “Poets’ spring”, 65,000 poets and persons read poems. When the festival ended, there are edited stamps with poets, and along the year poems of the recitals are selected and published. Nicolae Popa mentioned that the poem recitals have different styles every year, the current one - “Cities’ song” – being based on the modern poem. The aim of the festival is to get the attention “of the consumption society, of a hyper-industrialised society, and far from the emotive elements, at the existence of poems and arts in general as soul peace”. By organising these poem recitals it is followed, in the same time, payment of the attention at the existence of poets, writing the history and culture of the countries, but which in modern and post-modern period were put in shadow, giving their place to “VIP-s” of politics, sport, cinematography etc., Popa said. According to him, the poem of our days fights with the danger of disappearance, including of material reasons. “The silence around the modern poem concerns, as our world sees only the tribune poem and patriotic one,” Nicolae Popa also noted.
