A freight train started to burn near Stolniceni village of Ungheni district on November 12. Two locomotives were partially destroyed. Firefighters managed to stop the spread of the fire to railcars. No one was hurt.
According to the General Inspectorate for Emergencies, four firefighting teams travelled to the scene. The call to the 112 Service was made at 10:45am and the fire was localized at 12:42pm.
Spokesman for the state-run company Moldova’s Railways Eliza Botnari has told IPN that specialists of the company went to the scene to examine the circumstances of the incident. An investigation is under way.
