From September 1, 2011, the Moldovans who want to visit Israel can obtain visas free of charge, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Avigdor Lieberman announced in a meeting with Moldova’s Acting President Marian Lupu, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the presidential press service, the officials discussed the cooperation relations between the two countries, the bilateral political dialogue, the commercial-economic and humanitarian cooperation, the relations with the diaspora and ways of overcoming the political crisis in Moldova and resolving the Transnistrian dispute.
Owing to the contribution of the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, the visas to Moldovans will be issued free and there will be initiated a trilateral project involving Moldova, Romania and Israel to build an Agroindustrial Products Certification Center that will work basing on the European and international standards, which is very important for promoting Moldova’s exports.
Marian Lupu said the meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere and was very productive. He thanked the Israeli official for the medications to the value of about US$350,000 provided to a number of Moldovan medical institutions.
