The Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Agreement will cover the whole territory of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region, from January  1, 2016. The Official Journal of the European Union published the Decision of the EU – Moldova Association Council concerning the implementation of Title V of the Association Agreement all over Moldova, IPN reports.

The Government said that starting with January 1, 2016, all the economic entities of the Republic of Moldova, including those from the Transnistrian region, will export goods to the EU based on the same free trade regime.

To benefit from the free trade regime, the Transnistrian region pledged to ensure, during a definite period of time, preferential access conditions for goods and services that come from the EU and to make a series of adjustments to the commercial-economic and fiscal framework. If there are necessities and requests, the region will be offered assistance in taking trade facilitation measures.

The implementation of the provisions concerning trade and aspects related to trade will be assessed within ten months of the adoption of the decision and afterward once a year, by taking the required measures.
