Joint teams consisting of doctors of district and national medical institutions are performing gratis medical examinations in 53 villages with limited access to medical services. The service will be available until December 31, IPN reports.
According to the National Health Insurance Company, the free medical examinations are organized in villages of the districts Hanceati, Dubasari, Soldanesti, Rezina, Orhei, Edinet, Briceni, Rascani, and Sangerei. The teams of doctors examine the population on a certain day. Today, October 31, the team is in Sarata Galbena village of Hancesti district.
The consultations are aimed at ensuring better access to medical services for residents of villages that are situated far from districts centers so as to prevent and detect early particular diseases. The medical teams are created depending on the needs of the health centers of the given settlements. Among the doctors who are in demand are the cardiologists, neurologists gynecologists, oculists and gastroenterologists. A large part of the health centers also asked for ultrasound scanning.
According to estimates, about 100 ultrasound scans will be performed daily. One specialist will examine about 20 patients.
