The fifth-twelfth graders from the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia will eat free at school. A decision to this effect was taken by the People’s Assembly of Gagauzia on November 10, IPN reports.
A sum of 10 million lei will be needed annually for the purpose. The costs will be covered with public budget funds and sponsorships. To implement this initiative, the cooking facilities will be renovated at a cost of 1.8 million lei.
The decision will be implemented starting with 2018, but not all the education institutions have eateries. Therefore, some of the schools could comply with the decision only in the new school year.
Currently, only the first-fourth graders can eat gratis at school.
