The Ministry of Economy is examining the possibility of extending the Free Enterprise Zone “Balti” by uniting it with SA Moldaeroservice that owns a large plot of land in the city with all the necessary infrastructure, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry.
The Ministry of Economy will use the “Balti” zone to test the new strategy for developing free enterprise zones, which envisions the creation of an Industrial Park and a Business Incubator within this zone.
The industrial park will be managed by a joint company with the participation of the general investor, which will be founded by the administration of the free zone. The business incubator is designed to support the persons with entrepreneurial spirit and to create favorable conditions for developing entrepreneurial activities. An important element of this sub-zone will be the packing house with refrigerating storeroom.
According to the Ministry of Economy, this initiative will stimulate the implementation of a number of investment projects, new investments and increased sales. There will be created 2,000-3,000 new workplaces. The farmers working within 30-50 km of the park will be able to use the services of the packing house.
The Free Enterprise Zone “Balti” consists of two plots of 1.5 ha and 10.35 ha respectively. About 2,000 persons work there.
