A new Mental Health Community Center was inaugurated in Chisinau on January 10. This is housed by the Family Doctors’ Center No. 7 situated on V. Dokuchaev St, IPN reports.
In the inaugural ceremony, Chisinau Health Division head Mihai Moldovanu said there is only one more district in Chisinau where such a center wasn’t set up. This is Rascani district. But the repair works on the building that will house such a center there are underway and this will be opened in the course of this year.
A sum of 500,000 lei was allocated from the municipal budget for repairing and outfitting the fourth Mental Health Community Center opened in Chisinau. The created conditions are very good, stated Mihai Moldovanu.
Mihai Hotineanu, head of the new Mental Health Community Center, said this will serve up to 125,000 inhabitants of Centru district and of the suburban settlements Cricova, Vadul lui Voda and Ciorescu, but direct mental health services will be provided to 2,500 grownups and children.
A multidisciplinary team consisting of a psychiatrist for adults, a psychiatrist for children, logopedist, nurses and other specialists will work with the patients. The community center can also provide stationary treatment and has a number of rooms equipped for offering the required procedures.
