A 27-year-old woman has been sentenced to 7 and a half years in prison for human trafficking. The Moldovan woman, along with other individuals of Turkish origin, recruited four young women to sexually exploit them in nightclubs in Cyprus, IPN reports.

The General Prosecutor's Office stated in a press release that the recruitment of the four young women took place in 2016-2017. The woman used various tactics to lure the girls, including deception, abuse of vulnerability, false promises, and confiscation of the victims' documents.

The sentence will be served in a semi-closed type prison.

During the trial, the woman did not admit her guilt. The sentence is not final and can be appealed within 15 days to the Court of Appeal Center.
