Four young persons, including two girls, one of whom is underage, were sentenced for beating and stabbing a man in a public place in Râșcani district of Chisinau. The court gave them mostly suspended sentences. The prosecutors intend to challenge the sentences as too mild.
It happened in February 2023. According to the Prospector General’s Office (PGO), the four young people aged between 17 and 27 got into an argument with the man and insulted him. Later, one of them stabbed the man in the back, while the others kicked and punched him. The wounded man survived.
Contacted by IPN for details, PGO consultant Violina Moraru, PR manager, said the injuries suffered by the victim qualified as easily bodily injuries.
