Four SYSLAB career centers to be opened in Moldova

The Ministry of Economy, UNDP Moldova and the Norwegian company SYSLAB International are launching the three-year project “Innovative entrepreneurship for sustainable employment”. The authors aim to help the graduates, the Moldovan migrants who returned home and the unemployed who want to re-qualify for finding a job in Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The project envisions the opening of four career centers. The first will be set up this year in Chisinau, while the others in the country’s districts. The creation of the career centers is based on the SYSLAB (Systems Laboratory for Innovation and Employment). The conception includes modern methods for looking for jobs, initiating in entrepreneurship development, and searching for business networks and persons, modern sales techniques. Deputy Minister of Economy Sergiu Ciobanu said the project is based on the priorities defined in the development strategy “Moldova 2020”, the strategy for developing the small and medium-sized enterprises, and for reforming vocational-technical education. Project representative Jan S. Johannessen said that similar initiatives were developed and implemented successfully in Russia, Lithuania, Kazakhstan, and Azerbaijan. There were created 18 SYSLAB career centers. “The methodology is innovative and efficient. We have an experimental basis in this project, which will be used in Moldova. The presence of a SYSLAB center in Moldova’s settlements will make sure that the private sector is provided with skilled labor force, while the migrants who returned home with connection with employers,” said Jan S. Johannessen. According to him, the project centers on the principle of quality, not quantity. That’s why, the first year there will be trained 300 persons and the number will gradually grow to 1,000 at the four career centers the next few years. The employment rate among these specialists is estimated to be 70%.
