Alexandru Jizdan, the head of the Parliament’s national security, defense and public order commission, said that four persons were kidnapped by employees of the security ministry of the Transnistrian region in total and two of them are from Camenca. These include a police officer, an employee of the Public Services Agency and two persons about whom almost nothing is known, IPN reports.

Alexandru Jizdan told a news conference that the national security, defense and public order commission that came together for a meeting was informed that the kidnapping operation was organized with the involvement of the special forces. “We are profoundly concerned about this very serious incident. We consider all the red lines were crossed,” he stated.

The kidnapped persons are held in remand prisons in Tiraspol. They were kidnaped by persons in the same uniforms and even with the same cars. They had sacks put on their heads and were taken to an unknown direction, all because they are suspected of espionage.

According to Cristina Lesnic, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, the Joint Control Commission was already notified of the kidnapping of Andrei Amarfi. The kidnapping of the other three citizens took place on the night of October 8 and the abusive violation of the human rights will be communicated in a working regime.

All the international partners involved in the “5+2” format will be informed about this case. The issue was discussed on the OSCE’s platform in Vienna. A notification was sent to Tiraspol, but no answer has come yet. According to Cristina Lesnic, the human rights situation during the pandemic in the Transnistrian region has worsened.
