Four persons died Monday in separate fire events, Info-Prim Neo learned from the Civil Protection Service. The first fire occurred in Bolduresti village, Nisporeni district, where an elderly married couple, aged 67 and 74, were found dead from possible monoxide carbon poisoning, caused by the smoldering mattress which ignited from a burning cigarette butt. Another fire claimed the life of a 60-year-old man in Lucaceni village, Falesti district. The cause is believed to be the same – reckless smoking indoors. Another man, 77, died in his home in Larga village, Briceni district. The apparent cause of the fire was ignorant use of the heating stove. 323 fires have been recorded in Moldova from the beginning of the year. They claimed 59 lives.
